Port Pirie

Fleurieu Civil & Construction were engaged by Port Pirie Regional Council to complete the Wandearah Stormwater Rising Main Project – 510m of 450 PVC-M DN16 pipe adjacent to the City Centre of Port Pirie. The contract comprised the whole of the plant, labour and materials to execute the works including:

• Resident/business notification and liaison
• Traffic management
• Set-out of works
• Service locating.
• Demolish and removal of existing pavement and kerbing as required.
• Removal and disposal of a section of existing asbestos cement rising main.
• De-watering of existing stormwater infrastructure as required.
• Trench excavation, inclusive of all necessary ground support systems
• Management of Groundwater including testing, extraction, treatment, monitoring and disposal
• Management of potential contaminated soils
• Construction of replacement kerbing
• Trench backfills and pavement replacement.
• Due to the location being close to the city centre a majority of the works were performed at night in order to minimise disruptions to traffic.
